What a wonderful year the band had in 2008-2009 and Miss McGowan and I are currently making plans for this coming year to be even better. Our plans begin with the offering of a camp for band students just prior to the beginning of the new school year. The camps will be tailored to the needs of those attending the camp and we know it will serve to prepare our students for a great year.
The first week of camp (July 20-24) is primarily for those who will be in their second year of band as 6th graders but is open to those who will also be 7th graders in 2009-2010. Those students in the 7th grade have an opportunity of coming to camp for two weeks!
The second week of camp is for grades 7-12 and we hope to get a great start to learning music we will use at the football games this fall. This second camp will begin with a trip to San Antonio for a full day of excitement as we participate in the 2009 Texas Bandmasters Convention program designed specifically for students. The camps will run daily from 9:00 AM until 3:30 PM and include learning activities to build great musicians for this next year. We need to know of your plans to attend by July 1st so make sure you get your payment to the business office and the information from the following document emailed to Mr. Smith.
